The hottest gift this Christmas is the Flip Video Camera!
Already sold out from most retail outlets, the Flip Video Camera can be yours by ordering online only!
My wife wanted a new video camera now that we have a new child in our family. Our old cameras had a couple of problems. First, they were big and clunky. Second, they were hard to operate, especially with one hand.
My wife saw the Flip on a website a few months ago. Ironically, I had done the same thing when I saw the Flip being used for a business presentation. We knew this would be the camera for us.
When our third child was born, our old video camera, a Canon, gave up the ghost. We needed something or child number three was going to be five years old before we could get video of her.
Most other video cameras available were priced around $300.00 (like our Canon) or higher. And forget about HD cameras! There were two expensive.
I ordered a Flip camera for my wife for Christmast this year from Amazon.
I used Amazon because they had Super Saver shipping available, (not after the 18th) free, but overnight shipping is still available so Amazon makes a good place to order yours.
I checked out the Flip at a retail store near my home which only had a demonstration version available. All the others were sold out.
First, you can hold the Flip camera with one hand. That works for us because we have young children and two hands is out.
Second, my favorite part. The USB jack for the camera. Ever tried to copy a video to your PC? Maybe you wanted to burn a quick DVD for grandma? Fat chance. My Canon took two different cables, special software and I still had to order another cable from the manufacturer to make a simple DVD.
The Flip camera connects directly to your PC over the USB port. Two clicks and you are copying video straight to your drive or DVD. And the software comes with the Flip and is Windows or Mac compatible.
Third, No tapes, cards, inserts or anything. Like my DVR, the Flip camera records directly to the camera on its own hard drive. No media to replace, lose or purchase. Cool.
The basic Flip has 30 minutes of storage on a 1GB drive. Plenty for birth days, school plays, or soccer games.
There is an Ultra Series which has a larger hard drive with 60 minutes of record time.
And yes, there is an HD version as well if you are lucky enough to have an HD TV yet.
The Flip camera has plenty of accessories, but I did not purchase any of those yet. Most likely I will end up with a tripod and one of the pink covers (for my wife) before long.
I can honestly say the Flip video camera is the best video camera I have purchased so far. And with a price below 200.00, it is a great value. Amazon still has the Flip Video Camera in stock. You can order here today.
